North Korea launches its fourth missile in 2022

North Korea fired two ballistic missiles Monday in a bid to pressure the US and South Korea back to the negotiating table.

The US Indo-Pacific Command said the missiles did not pose a threat to the US and its allies. The missiles landed outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone but nevertheless it was found to be destabilising. North Korea had tested two suspected hypersonic missiles on January 5th and January 11th in a rebuke to President Biden for imposing fresh sanctions.

Analysts predict that the supreme leader Kim Jong Un is returning to his tried and tested method of using missile tests to provoke the US, Japan and South Korea in order to pressure them to return to the negotiating table.

On Monday two missiles were fired four minutes apart.

The supreme leader of North Korea is making expanding his nuclear arsenal as the only guarantee for the survival of his regime.
