Russian armed forces continue military operation
The armed forces of Russia continue to pound Ukrainian military targets through the Easter holiday. In a Russian MoD briefing Easter Sunday, Major General Igor Konashenkov gave a breakdown of the military operations carried out in Ukraine.
During the night of Holy Saturday, air strikes destroyed an ammunition factory near Brovary in Kiev region. The Aerospace Forces also sent in Su-25 ground attack aircraft to hit 2 radar stations used for target illumination and targeting of S-300 anti-aircraft missile system near Krivaya Luka and Krasnoarmeisk as well as 1 Osa AKM anti-aircraft missile system near Severodonetsk; 6 missile-artillery weapons and fuel depots, as well as 40 areas of concentration of Ukrainian military equipment and manpower in Kremennaya, Krasnyi Liman, Kolodesi, Torskoe, Yampolovka and Novoselovka.
Ground Forces MI-28 attack helicopters hit an Ukrainian column during the night as they moved towards attack positions. More than 50 Ukrainian servicemen, 7 Infantry Fighting Vehicles and 14 armoured vehicles were destroyed.
Russian Iskander missiles and artillery destroyed 814 assets among them 17 command posts, 111 artillery positions and 684 Ukrainian military positions. While S-400 air defence means shot down 10 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles near Avdeevka, Bairak, Lozovaya, Malaya Kamyshevakha, Novoprokofievka, Pologi, Chernobayevka, Shirkoe and Yasinovataya.
On Easter Sunday, Russian MIG 31 fighter jets fired Khinzal missiles destroying 1 fuel and ammunition storage facilities near Barvenkovo and Dobropolie.
Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopters engaged and destroyed 44 military targets which included according to the MoD spokesman. “2 command posts and 1 locator for illumination and targeting of S-300 missile system near Avdeevka. 3 missile and artillery weapons depots near Zavgorodnee and Protopopovka including 23 areas of the Ukrainian manpower and military equipment concentration near Krasniy Liman, Novoselovka, Rubezhnoe, Ugledar, Popasnaya, Prishyb and Gusarovka.”
Russian air defence S-400s were also in action on Easter Sunday, two Ukrainian Air Force MIG-29 fighter bombers were shot down shortly after take off from a secret airbase between Fedorovka and Zavody in the Kharkov region as well as  1 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle near Preobrazhenskoe, Pavlograd region.
Iskander missiles and artillery fire destroyed 4 Ukrainian command posts, 4 artillery batteries, 2 fuel depots and 103 enemy field camps.
The Russian MoD also confirmed that the Ukrainian army, National Guard and incoming foreign mercenaries have suffered 23,367 “irrecoverable losses.”
