Tinubu Guilty of Perjury
Lied under oath in 1998 and on INEC form in 1999
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu the Nigerian All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader and two term governor of Lagos state lied under oath in 1998 and on an Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) application in 1999 a Felastory investigation reveals.

Tinubu who is aiming to become President of Nigeria in 2023 if he wins the APC presidential primaries on June 7 lied that he attended the University of Chicago in an affidavit of loss at the Lagos State High Court on December 29th 1998. Then on December 20th 1999 he lied on his INEC application form stating he attended the University of Chicago from 1972-76.

On his official website bolatinubu.com he never mentioned he attended University of Chicago but Chicago State University. So why would he lie to the Nigerian electorate in 1998 and 1999 that he attended University of Chicago? His motive was a deliberate attempt to mislead the public that he attended the University of Chicago which is an Ivy League college so as to impress the citizens of Lagos.

In an email correspondence with the University of Chicago, the media team said that his website did not indicate he attended the university and Felastory was asked to provide documents stating he did.
Under Nigerian law, affidavits are solemn declaration of facts used for a wide variety of purposes from change of name, to stating that original documents were lost or stolen. Lying under oath is perjury and the punishment is 14 years imprisonment or life imprisonment in Nigeria.
