APC Rigging App

Read Time:1 Minute, 21 Second

Nigeria’s ruling party the All Progressive Congress rolls out rigging app party agents to influence voters in 176, 846 polling units

The All Progressive Congress (APC) desperate attempt to hold on to political power by any means necessary has made their presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu roll out a rigging app called pollingmanager.ng.

The app hosted on a secure web server assigns an APC agent 50 voters with their names and phone numbers extracted from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Permanent Voters Card (PVC) database. The party agent contacts each assigned voter and asks what their intention is. If they say they are voting for APC this is ticked and the agent gets his money via bank transfer which he can then transfer to anybody voting for Tinubu.

The current scarcity of physical cash two weeks to the presidential election which many analysts say is to discourage vote buying has led to the ruling party in developing an app that can receive and send money electronically among party stalwarts.

The party also released to its party agents in the south south geo political zone a self help video explaining how to use the application.

In a make or break presidential election many observers are wondering wether the polls will be free and fair with the ruling party deploying all sort of manipulative tools to convince voters to vote for the wrong candidate.
