Igbos under Siege
Nigerian militant Kalabari leader threatens Igbo ethnic group with genocide days after meeting President Tinubu in a closed door meeting
Militant Kalabari leader, Asari Dokubo has menaced the Igbo ethnic group of south eastern Nigeria with genocide, days after meeting the Nigerian president in the Presidential Villa, where they held a one hour closed door meeting.
He made the threat in a viral video, Tuesday while clutching an old AK47 assault rifle.

He was enraged by comments made by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) an Igbo separatist group, fighting for an independent state, that he had fled Nigeria following his remarks that he had advised President Bola Tinubu not to free the IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu from Department of State Security (DSS) detention.
Dokubo, speaking in English said. “The Igbo people do not know their roots. They don’t have respect for who bought their father. You think every Kalabari man is a Kalabari man. Igbos I don’t know them. If not for British intervention I will still be selling them the way my father sold them.”
He then switched to pidgin English when he made the threat to wipe out the Igbos anywhere he finds them. “See how the Igbo people are dying. They keep saying that I have run away. Look at me; I’m here. E be like say una dey look for who go look for una finish una. Look for una everywhere finish una.”
Ohanaeze Ndigbo the Igbo pan cultural group spokesman Alex Ogbonnia told newsmen that the group’s National Executive Council would not stoop low to the utterances of the Kalabari leader.
“Asari Dokubo does not deserve a response from the National Executive Committee of Ohaneze Ndigbo, rather we have a youth wing that will respond to him. I’ll be lowering the office of the NEC of Ohaneze to respond to Dokubo. It doesn’t fit it.”
As at press time, both the DSS and the police are yet to take any pre-emptive action against the Kalabari militant leader.
