Russian Ministry of Defence announces pay increase and issues new all weather uniforms for service in the Donbass
The Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin on Friday signed into law a wage increase for military personnel and employees of law enforcement departments by 10.5 percent.
The new wage comes into effect October 1.
“To increase from October 1, 2023 by 1.105 times: the salaries for military positions and salaries for military ranks of military personnel undergoing military service under a contract; the salaries for military positions of military personnel undergoing military service on conscription,” the document says.
In addition, salaries for positions and ranks of employees of the Russian Guard, police, internal affairs bodies, the penitentiary system, compulsory enforcement, the federal fire service, customs and the commanding staff of federal courier communications will increase by 10.5%.
The government also instructed the Interior Ministry to take this decision into account when recalculating the pensions of former drug control officers and their families.
The RuMOD began issuing Friday new set of all weather kits for soldiers serving in the special military operation. The defence ministry published a video that showed the distribution of the new uniforms to personnel at the front.
“In the next few days, this process will be completed, the personnel of the group will be fully dressed in these items of military clothing, which will improve the quality of their direct duties on the line of contact and bring our inevitable victory closer,” said the head of the clothing service of the Western Military District. with the callsign Engels.
The new uniform is made of modern combined materials that protect vulnerable areas of the body, in particular joints, and prevents the soldier from freezing or sweating.
The set consists of a jacket, trousers and a combat shirt, as well as a wind and moisture protective suit.
The soldiers also received new boots, created specifically for the special military operation. Their surface is made of nubuck, mesh is sewn on the sides, the boots are equipped with an orthopedic insole, and due to the membrane, the feet do not sweat in them.
Some units have already began to perform tasks in the new kit. In particular, artillerymen from the crews of the 152-millimeter guns “Hyacinth-B”.
